In a simple and intuitive manner, using a quotation wizard, the system allows for the insertion of the data required for the accurate drafting of the quote.

The data to be inserted are of various types: machine, material, thickness, geometry of the part and sheet metal data. Introduction may also be made of data such as machine preparation time, sheet metal loading /unloading times, supplementary time requirements, etc.

Geometry can be defined in several different ways: QuickDraw technology, DXF import, or importing parts from a database.

The system automatically makes nestings after simply selecting the sheet metal blank to be used. It then calculates the number of parts that can be made from the selected blank.

The system’s flexibility enables users to easily add their own questioners, totally gearing the assistant to the company’s specific quotation requirements.

This tool allows the costs for the different operations to be taken into account, together with auxiliary costs that are not associated with any particular operation.

When the nesting has been generated, the system allows a quote to be drawn up, taking into account the cutting times for each part included in the nesting. It is a very accurate cost calculation system, as it enables real multi-part nesting and the values specified on machine configuration to be taken into account.

The final result is a breakdown of the different costs: material consumption, labour costs and machine costs.

The user can increase or reduce each of the cost types and the desired profit margin and calculate the quote again with different values.

The system enables comparison of costs and sale prices. For example, when a quote has been drawn up for a job with specific technology, it can also be calculated how much it would cost for the same work to be done using different technology or with another type of material.

 

Automatic part creation

When the quote has been accepted by the customer and has become a definite order, the system automatically creates and records the part quoted in the part data base with the aid of the assistant.

 

Integration of quotes
with sales

Once the quote is generated and accepted by the customer, the user might generate a sale order. All the information of the quote is transferred automatically to the sale order, minimizing time in data processing.

Later on it might be transferred also to the manufacturing process and the delivery note and sale invoice generated.

Once the customer has accepted the quote and it becomes a definite order, the system automatically creates and records the part, in the part database.

 

Past record of quotes

All quotes generated by the wizard are recorded in a quote log file. The user may at any time re-launch a closed quote, modify specific data and run it once more.

 

Price Comparison

The system provides the option of comparing prices. Once a job has been performed with a machine with a specific technology, a calculation can also be made of what it would cost to perform the same task using a machine with a different technology.
