NotíciaLantek Expert Cut, the alternative for any cutting machine![]() Companies in the metal-processing sector need powerful, technologically advanced tools that enable them to carry out their cutting work with precision and also allow them to get the most out of their machines. Not for nothing is this a dynamic sector that demands speed and flexibility in adapting to the constant changes in requirements and deals with much shorter reaction times. To that effect, technology plays a critical role. There are a number of technological possibilities on the market for cutting sheet metal and profiles. When it comes to choosing, companies have to assess the options they have and check how these applications fit in with their machinery and meet their requirements. Under the initial premise of offering leading-edge cutting solutions that easily adapt to market requirements, at Lantek we have improved our application Lantek Expert Cut, with version 28 currently available. The technology behind Lantek Expert Cut makes it possible to configure and manage different types of lead-in for each contour type. It also offers automatic lead-ins, manual and automatic cutting, machining copy, customised machine configuration and post-processors for any type of machine. At Lantek efficiency, quality and commitment to our customers form part of the basic values of our corporate policy. These have been present since the company was set up, more than two decades ago. We are also committed to developing advanced, flexible applications that continue to push the boundaries, as well as next generation technologies for cutting sheet metal and profiles, be they laser, water jet or plasma. New functions with Lantek Expert Cut Lantek Expert Cut’s improved software enables all users to manage and optimise their different manufacturing processes efficiently, as it is an extremely powerful solution based on a next generation technology platform. The new version 28 of Lantek Expert Cut perfectly combines machine technology with customers’ programming and management requirements, incorporating innovative functions and bringing together the most advanced design and programming technologies. One of the new features is how easy it is to use, designed so that users only have to follow the steps indicated by the system. In that respect, it offers a more modern, user-friendly, simpler and, in short, more practical interface. It also incorporates a job management system that enables activities to be organised into folders forming a structure that will de displayed in tree form on a panel in the CAM module. All this thanks to the explorer, a modern tool that makes it easy to search for and organise the different jobs, significantly speeding up processes. There is also a practical wizard for initialising machining. Another of the advantages of Expert Cut v28 for plasma, laser or waterjet cutting is the significant improvement in speed, which has been optimised from the infrastructure point of view, with several processors in parallel that enable the speeding up of actions like entering or saving in the nesting module, manual or automatic, or importing parts, amongst others. These improvements in speed also have an effect on other processes like quicker drawing, technology and automatic machining, import process and those relating to cost and time calculations. The processes for using nesting have also been perfected, facilitating the exporting and importing of nestings from various system modules and the configuration of nesting modules, as well as introducing new multi-part modules. Likewise, in relation to nestings the new cutting application offers improvements in dealing with part rotation, enables optimisation in the normal method and automatic nesting, and facilitates nesting by areas. This all leads to an increase in productivity and effectiveness. Users of Lantek Expert Cut v28 can now save more material in nestings, as significant improvements have been incorporated in the sheet metal machining order function, together with the possibility of saving different machinings for the same part. It is also worth highlighting the new features in the cutting module, which includes new lead-in functions (slanted U-shaped and with no radius), making it possible to configure bridges in semi-automatic, and offers alternatives for bridges with right- or left-adjustment and special cycles for cutting-punching machines. The optimisation of chamfers in 5 axes and new functions in the mosaic module are other improvements introduced into Lantek’s different cutting technologies, which integrate perfectly with the rest of the company’s applications, thereby enabling companies in the metal industry to improve their competitiveness and increase their productivity, simplifying and optimising processes and keeping an eye on costs.
