Lantek reinstates Cortes Metalurgicos Oviedo in its portfolio of clients
Lantek's know-how, efficiency and ability to adapt its solutions to meet client's requirements are key in decision making
Lantek, world leader in the development and marketing of CAD/CAM/MES/ERP software solutions for the metal industry, has announced the acquisition of the management and cutting solutions for the company Cortes Metalurgicos Oviedo (CMO), Lantek Integra Professional and Lantek Expert, respectively.
The company, located in the town of La Cisterniga (Valladolid), has been in the market for more than seven years and focuses its business on the cutting and metal processing industry. Committed to the quality and price of its products, CMO strives to maintain service excellency and personalised customer service by offering premium products whose development uses innovative technologies and does not skimp on incorporating the latest advances in machinery and techniques. To achieve this, its facilities are equipped with machinery with oxycutting technology, laser cutting, water jets and high definition plasma, amongst others.
This eagerness to adapt and offer the best solution to meet its customer's needs, as well as optimizing its manufacturing processes, led CMO to consider a renewal process of its software infrastructure in order to maximize the performance and flexibility of its machinery, and proceed to computerise the company's management in each of its areas.
Besides this, CMO needed a powerful and agile solution for cutting and punching sheet metal which would adapt to the machines of the various manufacturers with which it works and which would also allow it to coordinate and combine seamless machine technology with its programming and management needs, putting aside the StigmaTEK application as it doesn't cover all of its needs.
After analysing and evaluating proposals from several different manufacturers, CMO opted for Lantek, a company that it had previously worked with, after finding that its bid complied with the project requirements, in addition to assessing its extensive experience and knowledge of the industrial sector and service quality.
Cutting processes and coordinated projectsFirstly, Lantek has implemented Lantek Integra Professional, a modular platform that fully and comprehensively covers the current and future needs of the company's management ranging from the initial process to the customer support service, and secondly, Lantek Expert, its CAD/CAM software for sheet metal cutting and punching for machine tools, replacing SigmaNEST.
Planning and saving improvementsThis deployment enables CMO to have organised, unified and centralized information of all the processes, in addition to being able to coordinate and control the cutting and management activities, eliminating the dispersion of information. Similarly, with the integration of the management area and manufacturing, in addition to simplifying processes, it has been possible to optimise business management, saving time by avoiding duplicate tasks and improving the quality of internal information. Having all of the company's production process automated means that CMO has complete control over each and every one of them and it gets a true reflection of the business situation from start finish. "Thus, the company has achieved a substantial improvement in planning and production times with a significant cost reduction", says Oscar Oviedo, Manager of CMO.
